So being a very pale princess I try and find a powder that I can use to finish my makeup that wont change the colour of my foundation but give me a glow. When I was introduced to the Hourglass powders, lets just say it was love at first swipe!!
Now these are not highly pigmented as they are finishing powders, so it is a difference you can see in real life, but not so much on swatches. I do appologise that the pictures are not my usual quality and the swatches are light. The packaging is very reflective!! So I have two full sized powders, a travel size and then an ambient blush!
The powders are 10g which is a good size, they come in brown slight metallic boxes, each powder has a domed shape and it comes in 6 shades. The two shades that I have in the full size are Ethereal Light and Mood Light. I use them for different purposes, the Ethereal Light I use all over my face as it is a cool white powder, that is said to mimic the moon glow. I use the Mood Light as a blush/bronzer, it somehow works really well with my skin tone. It states it is a sheer lavender pink powder that mimics the softest, most forgiving light and brightens the complexion and again I agree 100% with this! Now the travel sized one I have is in the shade Dim Light and I use this as a natural bronzer. It states this is a peach beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion. Now if your skin tone is light medium and darker then you may be able to use this as an all over finishing powder or highlighter!
Now the stripped powder that you can see at the top left is one of their Ambient Lighting Blushes in Luminous Flush. This is described as a Champagne Rose colour and it is two different powders intertwined in the palette, in this instance it is infused with the Luminous Lighting power, to evoke a candlelight glow. This gives a flawless glow to the cheeks that I love! I try and not use this everyday as there are many other blushes I love, but it will be a staple in the Summer!
On the left over the candy cane is the Ethereal Light, over the candy cane and love heart sweet is the Mood Light, over the love heart kiss me and top of the cherry is the Luminous Flush blush and finally the bottom half of the cherries is Dim Light. As you can see they are very light as these are quite heavy swatches. The full sized powders are £40 and the blush is £32. I was gifted the travel size as I am unsure if we can get these in the UK but I do know you can get them in Sephora.
These are powders for that extra luxury and not an essential piece to your everyday makeup, even though I use them everyday haha!!
